Job Specifics

Duties Description Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Mental Health Therapy Aide is responsible in a support role for the care and treatment of psychiatric patients. The Mental Health Therapy Aide functions as a participating member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team and assists in the implementation of treatment plans.

Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications: 1 year experience working with patients in a mental health therapy setting.

**The NYS Department of Civil Service has expanded the NY HELPS Program. During this program, the NYS Civil Service Exam requirements are suspended for the Mental Health Therapy Aide Title. 

Additional Comments Schedule based on a 40-hour work week. Monday-Friday, Evening Shift, every other weekend, holidays and pass days rotating based on operational needs.
